In the next few days we will be celebrating Christmas.

As we move into the Christmas spirit let us not forget that each one of us has a duty to perform and with that duty comes responsibilities.

Whether you belong to the medical or the administrative arm of the hospital, heavy responsibilities are placed on your shoulders. As members of the staff attached to one of the most important institutions in the country you should aim to cultivate the attitude of professionals and should never accept mediocrity.

In order to do this you should continue your education in whatever field you have chosen, since learning is a continuous process. You should practice good work ethics, keep searching for better ways to do things and seek for opportunities to expand and display your skills.

It is not enough just to be qualified and not seek quality in your work. You aim must continue to be excellence in your chosen profession, as experience has shown that unless one tries to do something beyond what one has already mastered, one will never grow in spirit.

As the curtain comes down on another year, I urge you to assess your performance and work continuously towards achieving the goals which you will set yourselves in the coming year.

In closing I wish to point out that I am very impressed by the team spirit which I always observe during my visits to this institution. Congratulations are certainly in order, and I hope that you continue to administer health care in this institution in that wonderful spirit of cooperation with each other.
